The black out look gives it a military/manly feel and it's nice large face is easy to read. I highly recommend this for men who like large watches.

Do not buy this watch, January 13, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Fossil Gage Plated Stainless Steel Watch - Black (Watch) I have already purchased 4 of these watches and none of them have been as advertised. The first watch worked great except for the fact that the button that operates the stopwatch function fell off. When I sent that back and got a new one it was not actually black, but rather a dark grey. Once again, I sent it back and reordered. The third watch had a broken compass. It didn't seem to be able to find anything close to north. For the third time, I sent the watch back and ordered one more. Once again I got a watch with a broken compass.
I finally got sick of this and emailed Fossil directly. They were entirely unhelpful and said I should just keep sending them back until I get one that works. When I got the last one with a broken compass, I emailed them again and they told me that the compass is just for decoration and is not intended to work.
