It's got some bulk to it but overall it's not very large, so it looks good on my smaller wrists. It's hard to tell in the pictures and descriptions what the exposed mechanical parts do and how the watch is actually powered, so I thought I'd explain it out here to anybody else who's shopping for this:
The hour and minute hand are powered by a battery. The 24-hour dial, day of the week dial, and day of the month dial all are moved by the hour/minute mechanism. The second hand dial is automatic powered. When the automatic part of the watch is "charged" you will see the top mechanical window spinning quite fast (not the large parts of it but the tiny metal pieces one layer underneath). The bottom mechanical window has a gray metal strip that gets wound around itself the more the automatic part is charged; if it's dead, it's only wound around a couple times, but when it's fully charged, it's wound...
